Rip to the Rescue!

Written by myself. Directed by Paudie Baggott. Produced by Sarah Barr.
This short was funded by the Kildare Short Grass scheme and exec produced by Deadpan Pictures. It’s a big dumb sci-fi film that we never expected anyone to get behind but somehow it got funding! Scannain.com called Rip to the Rescue “an inventively ironic culture clash.”

It’s played really well at festivals in Ireland and internationally. It won Best Short Film at the Waterford Film Festival and Robin Whenary our DP won Best Cinematography in a Short Film at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2019. More festival and award details available here.

No Messages

A self/crowd-funded short I wrote and directed in 2011. Starring Rory Connolly, David Murray, Lacy Moore and Eric Lalor. We shot this in my favourite Dublin pub - The Thomas House. Featuring a soundtrack of great Irish and Scottish bands, this remains one of my favourites things I’ve ever made. Irish Times critic Donald Clarke said No Messages was “…like the pilot for a sitcom you would actually watch. The acting was confident. The jokes were secure.”
